Stella Scott: About
Filmography
Stella Scott is a London based filmmaker. She graduated from Central Saint Martins in Performance: Design and Practice and began making films during her years as a youth worker at Kids Company. Her first film for Dazed Digital, Street Angel—which documented the inner world of an angel-card reader—won a Vimeo Staff Pick, while her follow-up, Reverie, which captured the dreams and aspirations of British youth, premiered at Aesthetica and the London Short Film Festival.
She’s worked with artists such as Zoë Kravitz, Rita Ora, Jeremy O’Harris, Naomi Campbell, Bobby Gillespie, Loyle Carner, Florence Pugh, and many others. For the Spice World Tour, the encore film she directed was reported in the press to have ‘received one of the biggest cheers of the night.’ Her collaborative approach to filmmaking creates a feeling of intimacy and authenticity across both her documentary and scripted work.
In 2019, she was selected for the iFeatures development scheme, and her short for BBC Film, Bulldozer was chosen as part of the BBC and BFI British Film Premiere in 2022. Her films have also screened at FrightFest Film Festival, British Shorts Berlin, Central Scotland Documentary Festival, Bolton Film Festival, Underwire Film Festival, Art Night London, Pervilion, and Holy Art. Her video for Olivia Dean was shortlisted for best music video at UKMVA 2020.

"As a youth worker, I needed a storytelling medium that teenagers would enjoy using. I made my first documentaries with them, and loved the immediacy of it as much as they did — I was hooked and have been developing my storytelling methods ever since."
